Shareholders _could_ guarantee to supply the association with a certain quantity of meat, say 80 per cent of their annual crop. The association would then bo in a position to sell forward and on the consuming market, say 80 per cent of their guaranteed supply, thus tending to stabilise the markets here 'or the season. In addition to displays of all classes of manufactured goods in the shop windows, a food exhibition and fair will be held in the Colosseum, which is intended to emphasise the importance of wheat growing as a staple procuct of this province, and what ,m essential part the cereal .crops of canterbury play in industrial activities, particularly in relation to the food supplies of the people.
