SOLDIER PATIENTS.

CLASSIFICATION SCHEME. MEDICAL BOARD IN CHRISTCHURCH. Colonel J. M. Christip and Lieuten-ant-Colonel N. Guthrio, who comprise a travelling military medical board, are n examining discharged soldiers wno aro attending as patients at military hospitals or civil institutions subsidised by the Defence Department. Their principal object is to classify patients for special treatment. In different centres, there are staffs and appliances for certain complaints, such as neurasthenia. The object is to send patients suffering from those complaints to institutions whore they mav receive the special treatment. . addition to this, the board is considering the cases of discharged soldiers relerred to it by the Pensions -Board. It will examine and classify these cases. Colonel Christie stated to-day that it invited discharged soldiers who wished to have their pensions reconsidered to communicate with the board through the Assistant-Director of Medical services. He said that .soldiers need have no hesitation in coming forward, as the board s wish was to remove ail injustices. The board will remain in Christchnrch for about ten days, and them Will go to Kaikoura, Marlborough Nelson _ and the West Coast, returning again to Christchurch and visiting the Queen Mary Hospital at Hanmcr. Some time was spent at the Chalmers Ward of the Christchurch Hospital to-day.
