Beginning next week, express trains from Christchurch to Dunedin and from Dunedin to Christchurch will run on three days a. week instead of two- Expresses will leave Christchurch at p m- for Dunedin on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and will arrive in Christchurch from Dunedin at o.S p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Reference to the City Council coal supply was made by Councillor D. Williamson at last night’s meeting of the Spreydon Borough Council. He said it had been announced that ratepayers could secure coal at the Borough Council Chambers, the Mayor (Mr A'.'Manhire) having made arrangements with the City Council. Some of the ratepayers had told him that they could not secure coal. The Mayor said that from four to six trucks of the City Council’s coal had been distributed r o local merchants. Arrangements nad now been made that Spreydon people could go to the city and buy City Council cud fts sity dwellers could.
