ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
A GAS EXPLOSION . A peculiar accident happened this morning, resulting in a vouug mau named Lionel Hughes, of 66. Durham ffrccL Sydenham. being admitted to the Hospital suffering from severe hums on the face and hands. It is stated that Hughes entered a room full of gas and struck a match in order to ascertain the cause of the escape. The gas immediately ignited and caused an explosion, resulting in the exposed portions of Hughes’s body being burnt. He was admitted to Hie Hospital at nine o clock this morning smd is progressmg satisfactorily. THROWN FROM A HORSE. [Peb Press Association. I AUCKLAND, September 3, A.
