OBITUARY.
DUNCAN M’LEAN. [Pse Press Association.] GREYMOUTH, August 22. Duncan M'Lean. merc7iant. a West Coast pioneer, died this morning, aged eighty-five. He was one of the oon-< tractors tor the Midland railway with the late Joseph Jay, His wife prodeceased him a few weeks.

(Received August 22, 12.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 20. the death is announced of George MacGregor, the famous wicket-keeper, (MacGregor, who was born at Edinburgh in 1869, was educated at Cambridge where ho first came into notice as a wicket-keeper. As 1 Varsity county and representative player ho was recognised as entitled to rank with England’s great wicket-keepers. He was a splendid all-round athlete.)
