Arbor Day is being observed at the Elmwood School, Leinster Road,' St Albans, to-day by improvements being made to the school grounds. The teachers and the senior scholars are planting trees and shrubs in a piece of the grounds, about two chains long, facing Leinster Road. About thirtyplants, including oaks, japonicat. laburnums, niburnnms and, amongst natives, the ribbon-wood, the yellow kowhai, the lace-bark and the red teatree, were planted.
