At Kingston (Ontario), General Sir Archibald MacDonnell, defending General Currie against criticisms of undue losses at the capture of Paschendaele, said the Canadian losses were the lowest while the percentage of gains was the highest. The Canadians captured Paschendaelo after the Australians, New Zealanders and British had failed.
