WAR TROPHIES.

METHOD OF DISTRIBUTION. Certain questions haring arisen in connection with the allocation of war trophies, states the Wellington “ Post ■’ it is announced that the trophies will he divided into two classes: (a) Those identified, as the property of certain legiments, which are forwarded on arrival in New Zealand to the Headquarters towns of those regiments; and (bj trophies forwarded to Now Zealand fogeneral distribution. In regard to (a) it is recognised that before U-C-. regiments can arrange with Mayors in their regimental areas for the disposal of trophies (G.H.Q. Instruction iNo. 40) it will be necessary •or them to bo in possession of a list ot the trophies that belong to the regimenz concerned. It will not bo possible however, to supply this list until all the trophies have arrived from En£hmd and Egypt; and this may not be 10 r another month or two. Meanwhile the Mayors of the districts and . C- regiments must arrange matters amongst themselves, or leave final adjudication until all tho trophies a.re received It is suggested that the latter alternative should be adopted 1 lie same thing applies to (b), for until i A, tro P hle s arrive a list of those allotted to any particular district cannot be supplied.
