EXPLANATION BY AIR MASSEY. [Peh Press Association.! WELLINGTON, August L?. Vosterdny’s fable message from London, stating, on the authority of the naval correspondent of tlio ‘‘ Daily Express;"’ that negotiations were in progress between the Admiralty and Now Zealand for ibc formation of a squadron for the Now Zealand station, was brought under the notice of the Prime Minister to-day. Air Massey replied that there were no negotiations. He added that while he was at Paris be bad an opportunity of talking over the naval question with the first Lord of the Admiralty and also tho First Sea Lord, hut nothing that took place then could ho described ns negotiations.
