U.S. PACIFIC FLEET.

Mr Josephus Daniels, Secretary of the Navy, in welcoming the Pacific fleet on its arrival at Los Angeles, said that it was intended to constitute a permanent defence of the Pacific coast against possible aggression by a infer eign foe.
