The Euahine made her departure from Wellington yesterday, at 12.35 p.m., for London, via Panama. .-The Karamea sailed from Cape Town on August 7 for Hobart, via Durban, and will probably arrive at Auckland in the first Week of September. The Athenic sailed from Colon on August 6, en route from London. She is due at Wellington on September 1. The financial year- of the Reinforced Concrete Shipbuilding Company of Hamburg has closed with a loss of 154,531 marks. It is understood that a number of small Norwegian shipyards have had to close owing to the lack of orders. Extensive boiler repairs are being carried out on the Monowai, which is at present undergoing her annual overhaul at Port Chalmers. A hulk recently owned by the Melbourne Harbour Trust is being converted into a steamer of 000 tons by the Melbourne Steamship Company. The vessel, which will be ready for sea in about five weeks’ time, will be colled the Mlalatia. She will bo employed in the Pacific Island trade under Captain •J. Nicholson.
