THE MAILS.
NO ENGLISH MAIL ON NIAGARA.
Til© Niagara, which arrived at Auckland at 6.30 a.m. to-day, was expected to bring a large English mail, and surprise was expressed in ' Christchurch, when it was known that she brought neither an English nor an American mail, but only an Australian one. The Christchurch section of this mail consists of only twenty-seven hags of letters, papers and parcels. These left Onehunga at Ip.m. to-day, and should arrive in Christchurch on Thursday morning. It is believed that a big English mail is on one of the troopships on the way to New Zealand, hut no information of this has been received.
A big Australian mail was delivered in Christchurch to-dav.
