A LOAN TO KOLCHAK
NEW YORK, August 2. , The New York “ Times” Washington corespondent states that a group of American bankers has loaned the Omsk Government five million dollars to enAdmiral Kolchak to buy food and other supplies in the United States.
WAR PRISONERS IN GERMANY,
PARIS, August 2. The Supreme Council ,of the Peace Conference is considering the repatriation of two hundred thousand Russian war prisoners from Germany. While desirous that they should not remain m captivity longer than necessary, the Allies are unwilling to surrender them as recruits for the Bolshevik army. TROUBLE AT ARCHANGEL. The Russo-British forces at Archangel are straining every nerve to counteract the propaganda of Bolshevik agents who dribble across the lines in the guise of deserters desirous of fiwhtagainst the Bolsheviks, and spread discontent .in the Russian northern army. Anti-Bolshevik leaflets are being dropped wholesale, and agents dispatched in aeroplanes behind the Bolshevik lines.
