ARMY ACTIVITIES.

RED SHIELD CLUB. [Paa Press Association.] FOXTON, July 31. Commissioner Hodder, accompanied by members of the headquarters staff, conductsed an open-air ceremony at the Red Shield Club yesterday afternoon in the presence of a largo gathering of the public. The object of the club is to cater for,the moral and social welfare of youths. Rooms are. provided for game, _ literary and musical purposes, and there is a special room for returned soldiers. The committee of management consists of local citizens and Salvation Army officials. The cost of furnishing the club, etc., was supplemented by local contributors. Hie institution is the first of its kind under Army jurisdiction and probably similar institutions will bo opened in other centres.
