In connection with the music for the Peace celebrations, it is stated that Mr Alfred Worslev is devoting his whole time to the united choir and orchestra, which are practising Jackson’s Te Deum and the Hallelujah Chorus f Mr Worsley has-composed a funeral march, which will be played by the orchestra in memory of fallen soldiers. A motorist who was on the Christ-church-Sumner Road ’ last , night mot with a peculiar misadventure. Near the Mount Pleasant Road the machine took the wrong turning, -with- the result that it finished up about eighty yards from the road in the mud of the estuary. It was impossible to extricate the car on its own power, and it stood at least one inundation by the tide. A sitting of. the Juvenile Court 1 was held to-day by Mr T. A. B. Bailey, S.Mf A, boy about fifteen years; of age was charged-with the theft of a pair of gloves valued at £l.' SeniorSergeant Cummings stated. that the accused was employed on a, milk round and during the recent cold and snowy .weather had taj*eu the gloves from a line where they had" been hung out to dry. : His father was a cripple and the boy helped; to support him. The accused was stated by his employer to bo a particularly honest boy—th© best she . had yet had. The Magistrate admonished and discharged him.
