SOLDIERS’ INCOME TAX.
TO THK HDITOR. Sir, -I should like to draw attention to what I. consider an anomaly in tho law relating to income tax returns as it applies to soldiers. I relinquished a responsible position and entered camp in August last, remaming there for five months. My wife and family received separation allowances and financial assistance was granted to pay war loading on my insurance policies. I am now required hy the Income Tax Department'.to pay income tax on my military pay, my wife and children’s separation allowances and on my life insurance war loading. I consider this unfair. AVhat do you think?—l a m, etc., s DIGGER.
