Ho wounded two Chinamen and just missed Dyson, a European, who was conducting the service. The noiso and smoko caused an alarm of lire to bo given. The fire engines were quickly on tho scene and were met with a fusilade of bullets,, none taking effect. The madman then bolted, pursued bv a crowd, on whom he turned and fired, tie escaped up a lancway, where bo barricaded himself in a house. Tho police and firemen, with a searchlight, occupied a neighbouring house and a battle of revolvers was kept up from eight o’clock last night, the Chinaman possessing a largo quantity of ammunition. Altogether, fifteen people wore wounded, and ton of them are in hospital, three being seriously injured. The lunatic is still holding the besiegers at bay.
