A TIDAL WAVE.
■ [Per Press Association-.] AUCKLAND, June 2. An earthouake which occurred on tho friendly Islands on April 30 was followed toy a tidhl wave, estimated ah 18ft high, which did considerable damage onliaapai, Vavau and Nukualofa escaped damage. _ The extent of the damage on Haapai is not known, no information having been received by tho Natives in other groups, lb is under j stood that no lives were lost.
