TURKEY.
MAN-HUNT AT SMYRNA. LONDON, May 31. The “Daily Express” Smyrna correspondent relates a.tragic story of the Greek occupation of Smyrna. Greek troops provoked Turkish soldiers to fire a few shots and then a horrible manhunt followed, Greek civilians joining in with the troops. The Turks who surrendered to the Greek troops were bayoneted, clubbed and flung into the sea, oven when unarmed and 'under escort. Turkish houses and shops were raided. When the news of the Smyrna happenings became known similar manhunts took place in surrounding villages, Greek troops handing rifles and bayonets to civilians, including boys of from twelve to sixteen years of age. The Turks appeal to Britain and r ranee not to hand Turkey over to her enemies.
