THE HOME ELECTIONS.
DIFFICULT TO FORECAST RESULT. SOLDIERS POLL HEAVILY. Bt Talep-aph—Praia Anoci&tion— Oopyritkk. A. and N.Z. Cable Association and Keillor. (Received December 17, 11 a.m.) LONDON, December 17. Apart from the strength of the women's rote, the-uncertainty of the soldiers’ vole makes it impossible to forecast, the result. Individual soldiers in Britain polled strongly. The returning officers received sacks of ballot papers from the camps prior to December 14, and the soldiers still have a few days to vote, hence tbo candidates assured of a local triumph admit that soldiers may upset calculations. Proxy voting on behalf of sailors and soldiers abroad is apparently a failure.
