“A STEADY STREAM.” RESPONSE TO ADVERTISEMENT ; IN THE Messrs booth, Macdonald and CO. DTD., acting for a Customs, inserted a "Wanted” Advertisement in the “ Star” (one insertion and one advertisement only) for four threshing machine hands. The result is told by the firm’s manager as follows ; At the time and place mentioned in the advertisement’ there were over s Dozen Applicants, from which the recuired quota was* selected, and A ' STEADY STREAM OF APPLICANTS WERE TURNED AWAY RIGHT UP TO MIDDAY. THE MORAL OF THIS IS PLAIN IT PAYS TO ADVERTISE IN THE “STAR.”
