The piece it may j be_ mentioned, is remarkably modern in its sentiment and portrayal of character, and belongs to the type of drama known as the comedy ‘ of manners. The chief characters are an austere father and an indulgent uncle the father taking under his care one son, while the uncle adopts and indulges the other. The denouement is amusingly happy.
