MRS A. L. HER DAI AX.

WELLINGTON, February 18. ' ery many people in 'Wellington and elsewhere will greatly regrot to hoar of the death of Airs Herd man, wife of Air Justice Herdman, which took place at midnight on Saturday, after a long and trying illness. The late Airs Herdman was the daughter of Air Atarsdsu iSniilh, of Dunedin, and was married to all Herdman in 1896. A family of seven children has been left, three daughters and four sons. The eldest is on active service, while another son will go into camp within a month or two. _ The funeral took place this morning, and was private.

[Pnn Press Association.] GISBORNE, February 18. The Hon Milliam Alorgan, AI.L.C., an old resident of this district and long connected with educational matters, died this morning, after a lengthy illness.
