Commenting on Desert Gold’s win at Caulfield on Saturday, the “ Daily Telegraph ”* states that she won most decisively, the time constituting a, record for the course.
There was never a more popular win at Caulfield.

V ANGANUI, February 18. The weather was showery for training operations this morning. Turpenite and Nystad ran seven furlongs together, the last five in linin' 4sie,c. Wishful galloped a mile in Imin Msec, covering a deal of extra ground, and Koesian sprinted half a mile in 49Jsec. Bond d’Or, Dusky Eve and Estlnnd started in straggling order, as named, from the six furlong post, Bond d’Or taking Imin 195,-c. Dusky Eve Imin 18 2-sso,c and Estland imin 17 2-ssec. Biplane ran five furlongs in Imin 2scc yesterday and was given trotting exercise to-day. Finmark did easy work.
