THE BUDGET

In his Budget speech, the Minister of Finance (Hon H. Burton) announced a surplus for the current year of £464,000. Ho estimated that next year’s deficit would lie £403,000, hut he expected that this would be wiped out without further taxation.
The Minister emphasised the, marked increase in the production of foodstuffs and industries since the war began,
