SOLDIERS’ GARDENS IN SPREYDON.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir-Last week a letter appeared in the Star” asking for the names of men willing to assist where necessary in. keeping in order the gardens of soldiers’ wives and mothers who could not get help otherwise. I am pleased to say I have already received a- goodly number of names and work has commenced. The present is a slack season lor that work, but later more help will be required. I shall, therefore, be pleased to receive the names of a, few more men who love their gardens so much that they will not begruage an hour or two per month for their brother at tho front. I may state, for those who do not yet know, that work will only be required to be done on Saturday afternoons. The afternoons will be arranged to suit the convenience of workers, who will visit gardens in batches of three or more if required. Applicants tor assistance should state the extent of their garden patch and the nature of the work. I have received applications from outside our boundary, and so desire to draw attention to the fact that the Sprcydon League confines its efforts to bpreydon.—l am, etc., nn . A. I. DE 800, , Baretta Street, Sprevdon. rebruarylo.
