MOTOR CARNIVAL.
POSTPONED TILL NEXT SATURDAY. v The very heavy and continuous rain lias necessitated tlio postponement of the Red Cross Motor Carnival, which was to have been held at Canterbury Park this afternoon. The carnival has been put off till next Saturday, and arrangements have been made for the whole of tho visiting competitors-—fif-teen in number—to stop here till that date, so that there will be no curtailments in the programme. The postponement for a week will havo a beneficial effect for the riders, as it will enable, them te get in an extra period of training. There should then also be a bettor track, which will ensure improved speed, with consequent greater thrills and more sensations. As the delay will mean greater expanse for the carnival officials, they hope that the public will recognise this by an attendance in greater numbers. The smoke social to entertain the visitors will take place to-night at eight o’clock.
