SALVATION ARMY WAR WORK.

A meg ting of the executive of the Salvation Array’s War Work Appeal was held in the Art Gallery, Air J. J. Dougall presiding in the absence of Mr \V. id. Clark. It was decided to a. general meeting on Thiesday next, with the intention of Increasing the vigour of the campaign. It was reported that so far those who had waited on citizens had secured a liberal response, and the amount contributed was now about £1(300. The meeting was informed that a reinforcement of over 100 Salvation Army officers was being sent to the western front immediately, and that the International Headquarters of the organisation was sending £150,000 fur the work. 'An additional fifty hutments were to be installed, and the extent of the Salvation Army’s operations were being considerably enlarged. Of the sum required to meet the cost of the additional work, New Zealand hoped to raise £50,000.
