THE LATE MRS M. MATSON.

The funeral of the late Mrs M. Matson, which took place at the Papanui Awchyard .yesterday afternoon, was very largely attended, the funeral cortege representing most of the families which were prominent in pioneering the settlement of this province, a territory that can never forget the name of the lady just passed to her long rest. It was remarked also that men who have long serivee records with the firm founded hv the late Mr Mat son were among the mourners. And in hushed tones they discussed the virtues of the deceased lady, whose memory was treasured in many homes, where her benevolent kindness in times of sickness and trouble will never be forgotten.
