ESTATE OF E. F. CAMPBELL

MEETING OF CREDITORS

An adjourned meeting of creditors in the estate of E. F. Campbell, storekeeper. Avoca, was held in the rooms of the Official Assignee this morning. Mr T. O. Kendall, Official Assignee, presided. The Jirst meeting was held a few weeks ago. and it was decided + o adjourn in order to enable the Official Assignee to make inquiries as to some of ihe debtor's nooks, which were not produced. The debtor's statement showed a deficiency of £.300.

Debtor stated that he had kept an order book to begin with. When he delivered art order, he .entered, the item from the order book into the daybook', and from the day-book into an account, book. Those were the only books he, kept. Mr T. W. Rowe, who appeared for debtor, stated that he did not keep a separate cash book because, he did not know how it should lie kept. He did not have the remotest idea, and simply gave it up, and relied on his bank book. Debtor said that the business was very irregular, the receipts varying from week to week. His father died when he was twelve months old. and his mother conducted a, farm of 280 acres at Sprcadcsglr, near Springfield. Mr TT. D. AcTand said that no explanation had been given as to how debtor had spent his money while ha conducted tho store at Avoea.

It was decided, on the motion of Mr TT O. Godfrey, seconded by Mr C. U Eraser---" That the estate should be left in ihe hands of the Official Assignee, and that he should take such proceedings, cither civil or criminal, as he considers the circumstances of the case may require."
