FUNERAL.

THE LATE G. H. TVHITCOMBE. The funeral of the late Mr George Hawkes Whitcombe, who wa.s head of the well known firm of Messrs "Whitcombe and Tombs, took place this morning, the mortal remains of the deceased being laid to rest, in the Limvood Cemetery. The esteem in which Mr "Whitcombo was held was evidenced, in tho large attendance of citizens, friends and employees of the firm. The services at tho graveside were conducted by Archdeacon Gosset. Tho chief mourners were Mr W. E. TVhitcombe (brother) and four of Mr Wbitcombe's eight sons (the other four being absent on war service), Messrs IL E. H. Whitcombe, Stanley TVhitcombe, Louis TVhitcombe and Basil TVhitcombe. The pall-bearers were Messrs D. Nicholson, 10. V. Chaffey, H. Baker, A. W. Shrimpton, H. Havdon and 11. Burgess (of the local staff of the firm). The TYellington. Dunedin and other branches of tho firm were represented bv Messrs B. P. Gully, A. Cameron and P. Duff. The directors of tho firm wore represented by Messrs E. Cuthbert (chairman), B. H. Burns and F. M. TVarren. The Xew Zealand Master Printers' Association of Employers was represented by Mr J. fiamble and Z\fr "VY. P. Sopor, a.nd tho Christ-church Master Printers' Union of Employers by Mr F. E.
