PIGEON SHOOTING.
The North Canterbury Gun Club's Grand National pigeon shooting: sweepstakes of £o each were shot off at Rangiora~to-d&y. There were twenty-five- competitors, including several well known gunmen from different parts of the Dominion. The sweep was 14 birds. The result was as follows: "W. Chi6nall (Christchurch) 22yds and H. A. Quartermaine (Wanganui) 23yds tied, killing all their birds, and divided first and second money, each takins? £l7 16s 3d. S. Watson (Styx) and E. Hammond (Christchurch) killed IS birds each, and divided third and fourth woaev. each takinsr. £3 8s 9cL
