AMERICAN TANKER SUNK, VICTIM OF U-BOAT. CAPTAIN AND FOUR GUNNERS CAPTURED. Australian »nd N.Z. Cable Association. (Received August .14, 10.15 a.m.) "WASHINGTON, August 12. The Navy Department has announced thnt the, American tanker Campa n?i, was sung by a, U-boat about eight miles off tho Isle Dieu, on the French coast. Fifty-seven survivors landed. It is believed that the tanker's captain and four gunners were taken prisoners in the U-boat, and iti is fcalled that they may suffer a fate similar to Captain Fryatt.
