A French communique states: The artillery is active between Cerny iw\ Craonne, notably on. the sector south of Ailles, wher 0 a German attack on the trenches -vre captured on August 11 was repulsed with heavy losses. Two enemy surprise attacks on the Bois de Caurieres and Bezonvaux failed.
