PRISONER PATIENT RECOVERS
HEALTH
[From Our Cohbespokdent.] WELLINGTON, August 12.
Tho Auckland prisoner Birch, who was the subject of an interesting brain operation, with the object of removing cranial pressure, believed to be responsible for fits of criminal violence which havo resulted in his committal on a life sentenco, has recovered his health. Ho was recently removed from Auckland gaol hospital to Waikeria Prison Farm, where ho will be given light employment and secure improved environment, which should enhance the possibility of effecting a complete cure.
