A brother was fighting at the front. Two previous convictions referred to by tho police occurred when accusedwwa s under twelve years of age. Til IS DAY. (Before Mr W. T. Lester. J.P.) DRUNKENNESS. Two first offenders were convicted and discharged, and two others were each lined 5s and costs. John Anderson, charged with being drunk and disorderly, was fined 40s and costs. NO PAS SPOUT. Arthur Hal mar Petersen, dharged with bcim; di'unk and disorderly, was further charged that, being an alien encaged on an oversea, steamer, he had landed in New Zealand without ltaving in his possession ft passport! issued tcThim not more than two years previous to his arrival, or without a. temporary passport from the. Collector cf Customs, contrary to regulation No. < of the War Regulation of Order and Council. He was convicted and lined •10s on the -first charge, and was ordered to appear before the Christcnureh Magistrate's Oonrt on Morula3 morning on tjic second.
