CONTROL OF SEA TRAFFIC.
BRITISH AND AMERICAN ARRANGEMENT. TO ELIMINATE NON-ESSENTIALS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received August 10, 12..50 p.m.) WASHINGTON, August 9. Mr Guthrie, the British Traffic Commissioner, is having a conference with Mr Hurley for the purpose of formulating British and American control of trans-Atlantic shipping, which is expected tn begin next week. The system is designed to climinaite non-essentials and to save extensive space for foods and munitions.
