MEDICAL EXAMINATION OF MEMBERS. [Per Press Association.] 'WELLINGTON, August 9. Sir James Allen, replying i,o a Pressman's question as to whether any definite arrangements had been made for the early medical examination of Second Division members, said that he had not yet received a reply from the Medical Association as to whether it could supply twenty doctors for the purpose. Until he received this information he could make no announcement. Referring to the statement by Sir James Allen that ho had not received a repjy from the British Medical Association to his letter asking if the asso-' ciation would supply twenty doctors for the purpose of making an early medical examination of members of the Second Division, officers of the associ«»» tion informed a reporter that no cofip munication had been received by t&s association from Sir James respecting the matter. On the other hand, the association had been trying to obtain recognition by the Defence Depart* merit of an advisory board, for the offer—of which the Defence Minister has repeatedly thanked the association, bus denied the necessity for such board a? f a.r jib hia.
