TWO DERELICT SCHOONERS.

SIGHTED IN SOUTH PACIFIC.

The Navy Department is advised ihat on July 14 a burnt derelict wooden four-masted schooner, timber-Laden, was sighted in latitude 23.2(5 south and longitude 173.1-1 cast. The Department, is also advised that on Juno 19 a similar derelict, a threemasted schooner, was sighted in lati-. tude 13.41 south and longitude 157. 3-j west.

There were no signs of life, or identification marks visible on either vessel (The given position of the first derelict mentioned is about midway between Norfolk Island and Fiji, and nearly 1000 miles clue north of New Zealand. The position of the second schooner -would bo a littlo to the southwest of Manahiki atoll and north of the Cook Group, in the Eastern Pacific.
