ANOTHER BURGLARY.

RESIDENCE ENTERED WHILE INMATES AT HOME. NEARLY £3O TAKEN. The latest burglary in the Christchurch suburbs was of a more daring character than usual, the dwellinghouse of Mr B. Munro, Lincoln Road, near the showgrounds, being entered between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesdav.

The thieves appear to have gained an entry to the house through a front bedroom window. In this room was a safe, and the thieves opened this, apparently with skeleton or duplicate keys, and secured the sum of about £2;" iin notes, belonging to Mrs Munro.

Another bedroom was entered, and from this room £3 was taken. The unauthorised visitors seem to have been disturbed, as some money and jewellery left, in a drawer were not touched.

At. the time the thefts took place, Mrs Munro and her family were in the kitchen and the back portion of the premises, preparing the evening meal. Mr Munro has a general store in Madras Street, and he was at. his business premises at the time of the thefts. No arrests have yet. been made. RESIDENTS ALARMED LAST NIGHT. Serpivd residents in different parts of the. St Albans district were alarmed last, night, by persons being unlawfully about the promises. The police were communicated with and took prompt action, but on making investigation found that thorp was nothing to go upon as far as arrests are. concerned. Three alarms were experienced. In one case in Durham Street north, near Bealey Avenue, a stranger was seen in the. yard in the evening, but soon made off. Another case was in Rugby Street and another in Papanui Road.
