THE EAST FRONT.
THE GERMAN OFFENSIVE. NO AUSTRIAN'S ENGAGED. Australian and N.Z,. Cable Association. (Received July 25. 9.10 a.m.) • ROME. July 24. The Oalician offensive is being exclusively earned out by Germans. There is'a marked disinclination on the pnrt of the Austrian* to weaken the Italian front in order to help the Germans. ENEMY BRIBERY. Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association. (Received July 25. 1.30 p.m.) PETROGRAD. July 2-1. It is daily more apparent that German bribery played a great part in the revolt. When the occupants of the Fortress of Peter and Paul yielded and the Harrison were searched, every man had at least £35 in his possession. KERENSKY SPEAKS. GOVERNMENT WILL SAVE RUSSIA. Reuter's Telegrams. (Received July 25, 2 p.m.) PETROGRAD, July 24. M. Kerensky, interviewed, said the Government weald save Russia by blood and iron if appeals to reason, honour and conscience failed. Whatever happened, the pre-revolution regime was impossible. The problem of the moment was to check the retreat, to end economic disorder ond restore the finances. The situation at the front demanded heroic measures, and the Government would-deal sternly with traitors.
