SPANISH TURMOIL.
THE CATALONIA MEETING. REVOLUTION TH R EATENING.. By Telegraph.—Prese Association—Copyright " The Times " Service. LONDON, July 23. " Tlie Times" cr.i respondent at Barcelona, telegraphing on July 23, says that details of the meeting of the Catalonian Deputies show that three trusted regiments '*ero hurried from Salamanca, and with a big force of annuel police, watched, the proposed meeting place in the Hotel de Ville. Meanwhile the seventy-one Deputies gathered elsewhere and carried resolutions demanding the convocation of th« Cortes, the renovation of the political system, and the abolition of the proMonnrchial censorship. They appointed three committees. The civil Governor, discovering that he had been outmanoeuvred, c'ispatched a strong force to clear out the rump assembly, { which met the summons to dissolve 1 with a point-blank "No." The Gover-i nor, therefore, ordered the soldiers to evict the Deputies and Senators singly. The correspondent adds that a critical stage has been reached. The Gov* Oi-nnient is losing authority. The Assembly's manifesto is sold everywhere under the nose of ihe police. If Semr Pato does not resign the revolution must have the last word, preceded, by a general strike.
