DOMINION CONFERENCE. (Per Priors Association.] "WELLINGTON. July 24. Tho annual conference of the New Zealand Farmors' Union opened today. Tho president's address, which was loudly applauded, dealt with a number of important phases of farm work. It wa.s resolved—(l) that the Government should be urged to introduce: a liberal .scheme of land settlement to induce men to settle on land in increased numbers. (2)' That when tho Crown deals with Crown lands in any coirrity council's area tho council should, bo represented in tho locating of roads, arranging; the subdivision of tho land and in fixing the rentals of tho same.
