An elderly French scientist conducted experiments with people sufferiug with Inns; trouble, by sending them up into the higher and purer atmosphere in small captive balloons. The patients had to stay up in the air for a certain time cvr-'ry day. In America there are sanatoria which are. supplied with a number of small bnlloons which 'are. sent up to considerable altitudes, taking with them patients suffering from lung trouble. A doctor or trained attendant always accompanies the jjatients.
