A meeting of the residents of Waimairi district mid West Brighton was held at Mc.-n-s Thompson's, Bowlull Road, on Saturday, for the purpose of forming a Burgesses' Association to further tho interests of the district. The meeting was well attended, and tho following resolution, moved by Mr A. ]{.. Blank mid seconded by Mr Poison, was carried iinanimoin-ly :—" That an association bo formed and bo ca-lled tho "Waimairi and. West Brighton Burgesses' Ratepayers' Association." The following- officers were elected :—President, Mr A. E. Blank; vice-presi-dents, Messrs Curtiss, Florence, C add, Johunsen, M'Xcil, Matthews and Poison. Tho annual subscription was fixed at Is. Tho date- and place of subsequent meetings was left to the discretion of the president. A veto of thanks was passed to Messrs Thompson for the use of their house, and to Mr A. B. Blank for convening the meeting:.
