SUPPLY OF SHIPS.
* 6 VESSELS FOR DOMINION. IMPERIAL AUTHORITIES NOT OPTIMISTIC. [From Our Correspondent.J WELLINGTON, July 19. Mr Witty asked the Prime Minister to-diiv if there was any truth in the report that .some of the seventeen overseas ships to he loaded in New Zealand had been diverted.
Mr Massey replied that no information to that effect had reached him. He had, however, received an official communication from England on the subject of shipping within the last day or two. and the Imperial authorities were not very optimistic about keeping up the supply of ships required for the Australasian trade. " T cannot go further than this," he said. " I have had no notice about the ships referred to by the member."
