THE WOMAN ABOVE.

There's a VComan who's staring and storing- from over the shot and the shell, As an angel in highest heaven might ea7,e on the horror of hell; "With the threat of a new day's thunder, tho old dead day is done— But the Woman is staring and staring far into the sinking sun!

Then who is the Woman who's staring from out of that flame-swept skv? And is she the mother o' mankind, who must, watch her children die? With her tragic eves all tearless, with her brow all racked with pain, She prays for the blessing of blindness, that- might not- se© them slain.
