The conference of the Second Division League to-day received a report from a special committee on the subject, of pay and pensions. The com mil top recommends pay of os per day I'or the soldiers, the sanm as for men of the First Division, with' separation allowance of 5s a day to the wife or sole dependant, Is (>d a day for each child, and to a motherless child, 3s (id a. day. with an extra allowance to a wife who is a chronic invalid of 10s a week extra, and to a chronic invalid child os extra. The committee recommends that pensions should he granted to widows with children of ,C2 Ids (id weekly, without- children or polo dependent J2i2 ">s <id. and to each child 10s (id a week, or to a motherless child 17s (id,with extra, allowance to a wife who is a chronic invalid of 10s. and to a child who is a chronic invalid os. A totally disabled soldier, all ranks, single or married, should receive L'2 n week*, and his wife or sole dependent .CI. to ho increased to L'2 1 (is fid on the death of the soldier in the case of a widow Avi.th children, and ti|> to C'2 vss <!d if without children. Each child to receive I.os (id a week, motherless children 17s od, a chronic invalid wife n .os extra,, and a chronic invalid child OS extra.
Tbe age limits suggested, of the benefits to the children arc-- Males seventeen years, females twontv years.
