THE PRESIDENT RESIGNS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received July 19, 0.0 a.m.) LONDON, July 18. The " Morning Post's " Pekin correspondent states that, President Li Yuan Hung has definitely tendered his resignation, following a fight between his men and the adherents of tho e*-Pj-emier, Tua.i Chi Jui, in which three were killed. Tho President took refuge in a French hospital in Pekin and issued an appeal urging the country to support, his successor, Fang Kuo Chang. The latter refused to accept, the presidency, being reluctant to proceed to Pekin.
