CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTORS PELTED WITH TURF. NEW ZEALANDERS AMONG ASSAILANTS. LONDON. July 16. In the House of Commons, replying to Mr Philip Snowden, Sir George Cave said that u crowd. including some New Zealanders, attacked a party of conscientious objectors going to a ward in Broekenhurst on July 9. They pelted tho objectors with turf and throw two in tho river. No ono was seriously hurt. Property, most of it belonging to tho Government, was flung into the river. Tho military police tried to prevent. th 0 trouble but were nor. strong enough. Officers intervened and quietened tho crowd. Tho conscientious objectors declined to identify or prosecute their assailants. KILLED IN ACTION. LIETTTENANT-OOLONEL ST HILL. Australian and N.Z. C-ablo Association. LONDON, July 16. Lieutenant-Colonel George St Hill, of the Hussars, has been killed in action. He was a son of the late Canon Si Hill, of Napier. I
